Infant and Toddler Rooms

Our infant and toddler rooms provide the perfect transition from being home with mom or dad to being in a child care center. Our staff is extensively trained in early care and development, and are both professional and nurturing. Staff meet continuing education requirements annually and we provide in-services to meet the needs of current practice.  We pride ourselves on staff longevity and understand the importance of bonding. While our regulations require a 1 to 4 staff-to-child ratio, we always have a floater to fill in as necessary because we know that sometimes babies and toddlers require more personalized attention.  We view each child as an individual and allow for personal choices and meeting each little one’s needs.

Our rooms are colorful and inviting and we provide spaces for quiet time and playtime. Rooms are homey and a place of comfort for our babies and toddlers. The materials are developmentally appropriate and inspire little ones to explore them and learn about the world around them. We meet the CT Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS) and provide activities and interactions to support Cognition, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Early Language Communication and Literacy, Creative Arts, and Early Math and Science inquiry.

The toddler room becomes a stepping stone for moving to the preschool side of the building with a positive and confident outlook, and once children reach 2.9 years we start to have visits to the 3-year-old room as part of an orientation to the “big kids class”. We do everything possible to make this transition smooth and anxiety-free for your little ones as we know this can be scary.

Our center is always available to talk and we encourage you to stay in contact with our staff members to bridge the home-to-school gap.
