Four-Year-Old Room

The four-year-old program is exciting and filled with wonderment. Children in this room are encouraged to explore and question to gain a deeper understanding of the environment. Teachers are skilled in taking the lead from the children to bring to life child-initiated activities that can hold attention and keep children invested in the learning process. Much time is spent in conversations with each child to understand their interests and to see their areas of strengths as well as becoming aware of areas that may need more nurturing. Language and literacy are intentionally built into each activity and building vocabulary is a central focus. Math and science are done in very natural ways and are meaningful experiences for them daily. Technology is used for real purposes with cameras, iPads, smartboards, etc, and technological experiences are interactive activities.
